You’re on a tight schedule, and you need to make every moment you spend outside of your technical work really count.
With expert input from your Clarity Coach, you’ll draft, revise, and/or edit an email, document, or presentation. You’ll do the “writing” while your coach guides you step-by-step through the many different decisions you must make along the way.
What you can expect to get from coaching
As you work with your Clarity Coach to refine a work-in-progress, you’ll develop your personal strengths as a communicator. While you and your coach will develop your own set of coaching goals, here are 10 top outcomes of the coaching process:
01
“Translate” your expert knowledge into concepts and language accessible to your target audience
02
Articulate a clear, compelling key message
03
Customize a document to a specific audience (e.g., a particular prospect or potential funder)
04
Improve your writing productivity
05
Develop a strong professional writing voice
06
Strengthen a logical argument
07
Build a better business case
08
Spot grammar glitches that show up frequently in your writing
09
Re-structure your writing for greater clarity
10
Revise and edit your own writing with accuracy and confidence
What you won’t get from coaching
Coaching enables you to improve a real email, document, or presentation. Depending on the level of effort and skill you’re able to bring to this task, you may or may not achieve a fully polished end product ready to send to a customer or funder.
Your coach will critique your work, give you constructive feedback, and offer techniques and tools you can use to improve your communication. But they won’t rewrite or edit your writing.
But that doesn’t mean we’ll leave you in the lurch! You may want to combine coaching with authoring and/or graphic design services so you can maximize the DIY approach AND deliver an end product that meets high professional standards.
Coaching options
Coaching works best when it fits your personal working style. Some of our clients prefer to get feedback in writing via email so they can process comments on their own schedule and reread them as they revise. Others prefer to “talk through” writing challenges in a live conversation so the coach can act as a sounding board and brainstorm partner.
Choose the kind of coaching that suits your personality and workflow. Start with one of our standard packages, or ask us about customized options.
